Eliza loves the spinning robots!

Today when we got home, Daddy busted out a robot toy for Eliza to play with. You know, mix up the routine a little. He chose the purple robot, as to best match her outfit.

This photo was taken about 2 seconds before she lunged across the playmat and tackled the poor, spinning robot.

First morning at daycare!

Here's a shot of Eliza, who's already warmed up to her daycare nanny, Miss Jan. We dropped her off this morning, and decked out her daytime crib with some of her favorite toys (especially Donald the giraffe). She's already smiling and waving at the other babies in the room, and will probably be moved to the "big baby room" in the next week. She's already skipping grades...we knew she was a smart cookie!

Eliza loves playing and rolling around on the floor. But she also enjoys hanging out on the couch with her talking doggy toy, and reading a good book. This particular book is about an octopus that likes to swim - Eliza LOVES reading (and eating) it.

I have no idea what Grammy Lew was doing, but she sure got Eliza to laugh like crazy.

Eliza has been a great little traveler. After her first visit to the ocean, she visited Myrtle Beach's "Broadway at the Beach." The girls got there around dusk so E was exposed to the carnival atmosphere of lights and music. (She was also fascinated by the crazy, disgusting fish as her mommy and daddy were back in April We broke from the crowds and ducked into a crab-themed store. Sure enough we found the perfect hat for a photo. E even thought it was funny.

As we drove up the coast, we made several pit stops. Mostly to change
diapers, but also to check out some history. One of our stops was at the
Charles Pinckney house. He was a signer of the constitution. George
Washington stayed there once. Eliza, Grammy and Patti posed for a pic on
the porch.

Eliza is having lots of adventures at the coast. After leaving
Charleston, the girls headed up the coast to Myrtle Beach. Eliza and Patti each
dipped their toes in the Atlantic for the first time. The water was
warm. Not like the Oregon coast! Here's a photo of Eliza, Patti and
Grammy Lew.

Our first trip to the Atlantic Ocean. Eliza dipped her toes into the
water. At first she thought it was neat, then she got kinda scared.
Afterwards, mommy snapped this photo to commemorate the experience. While E
doesn't look quite as excited as mommy, it is important to point out
that Eliza was busy at this very moment trying to grab the camera away.
